I would also like to thank the Centre for Microscopy and Microanlysis (CMM) at the University of Queensland for use of their sample preparation equipment and Scanning Electron Microscope.

The specimens were freeze-dried at the CMM using liquid nitrogen. They were then glued to microscope mounts and coated with platinum in a sputter-coater before being imaged in the JEOL 6460 LA Scanning Electron Microscope at the CMM. During these processes some body parts like delicate setae may be damaged so please keep this in mind while viewing some images.
